Recreational Diving 

I am a qualified Dive Doctor and offer recreational Dive Medicals, done in accordance with the SPUMS medical process.

Ive done occupational and recreational Dive Medicals for a number of years and enjoy helping recreational divers enjoy the underwater world, in a safe and exciting way.

Ive previously done Defence Force Work Diving medicals for the Army, Navy and Air Force, and find this work complements my Aviation Medicine clincial work as well.

A Health Summary from your GP

If you can arrange for a health summary to be printed off from yoru current GP and be brought to the consult, that will assist in verification of up to date records.

An accurate list of your medications, either from your GP, or self-reported will assist in a complete and thorough aviation medical.

SPUMS Dive Medical Form

Download and fill out the SPUMS Recreational Dive Medical form, and bring this to your consult on the day.

On the Day – Nursing Prelims

Prelims

Our Nursing staff will record your basic information – height, weight, BP, Pulse Rate, Urine protein, O2 sats, respiratory rate.

ECG

Our Nursing staff will perform an ECG if required

Spirometry

If spirometry is required for clinical reasons, it can be done on the day prior to your appointment.

CASA DAME Appointment

In your appointment iwtyh the CASA DME, we will confirm all of the information required above, check your overal lmedical history, age-rel;ated requirements, and complete the MRS administration and clinical management of any conditions

CASA Confirmation

CASA will normally confirm the DAME recommendation on the same day, within 4 hours or so. Any ongoing issues will be managed in seperate consults but these are normally rare.
