Dr Thomas Perkins is a CASA DAME, and former Aviation Medical Officer for the Royal Australian Air Force, available at West End for your CASE DAME Aircrew Medicals. 

Perfect for Aircrew – Pilots, Navigators, Air Traffic Controllers, Air Safety Officers doing CASA DAME Aviation Medicals for renewals or initial applications. 

Im experienced with both military aviation, heavy commercial aviation and light private/commercial aviation. He has previously served as both an Aerospace Engineer and Aerospace Physician at RAAF Amberly, Tindal, Darwin, Williamtown, Adelaide.

In my former career as an Aerospace Engineer, I used to design radar and Radar Warning Receiver systems for the F-111, F/A-18, C-130H, C-130J and Flight Computers for use on the Airbus A380 in the UK.

Before Your Appointment

MRS Completion

Be sure to complete your MRS application, including paying them their fee, prior to booking your CASA DAME Pilot Medical appointment.

A Health Summary from your GP

If you can arrange for a health summary to be printed off from your current GP and be brought to the Pilot Medical consult, that will assist in verification of up to date records, helpful for the CASA MRS system info.

A list of your medicines

An accurate list of your medications, either from your GP, or self-reported will assist in a complete and thorough CASA DAME Aircrew Medical.

Blood Tests

Age-related blood tests normally include Full Blood Count, Liver Function Tests, Fasting Cholesterol and Sugars, and can be organised remotely, in advance of your consult.  Request your serology form from us by using the form below, it will be completed and emailed to you to get done at your closest QML

Eye Examination

Please arrange an age-related eye examination from a DAO or delegate prior to your Aircrew Medical appointment.  Find your DAO here

Audiogram / Hearing Test

Please arrange for an audiogram / hearing test prior to your appointment wiith the results uploaded to MRS or cc’ed to Dr Perkins. Alternatively we have Audio facilities in-house available on the day of your appointment. We recommend Attune Audiology.

 

On the Day – Nursing Prelims

Our Nursing staff will record your basic information – height, weight, BP, Pulse rRate, Urine protein, O2 sats, respiratory rate.

Our Nursing staff will perform an ECG if required

Spirometry

If spirometry is required for clinical reasons, it can be done on the day prior to your appointment.

CASA DAME Appointment

In your appointment iwtyh the CASA DME, we will confirm all of the information required above, check your overal lmedical history, age-rel;ated requirements, and complete the MRS administration and clinical management of any conditions

CASA Confirmation

CASA will normally confirm the DAME recommendation on the same day, within 4 hours or so. Any ongoing issues will be managed in seperate consults but these are normally rare.
